Hi. It might be an older type. I find a lot of older swords on sale in Europe. I must say the price is rather over the top and I think you could get a better deal. This seller is the only one in Belgium and is very expensive compared to sellers in the UK or Germany. If it is an older model, they hicked up the old price to todays inflated level. Double the margin for them. I say look elsewhere. Cheers, Ulahn.

I can't reply as to its quality, but it is indeed a Hanwei. It is a very limited edition piece. The page says that there were only 50 made. Here is a link to a page on it. www.hanwei.info/html/kurosagi-katana.htmlHope this helps, and welcome to SBG!

thanks for your replies!
The problem is that indeed this is the only seller in Belgium...and when I order in other countries i will pay a huge import tax, no? My gerber covert from USA had almost €80 import tax!

Welcome to the forum. If you can get the Kurosagi for 495€'s I think it will be a good buy. As this was 2nd sword in Hanwei's very limited production run in 2008, if I remember correctly. Both Kurosagi and Taketori were only produced 50 pieces, which makes them highly sought after by those who are after rare Hanwei limited editions. It's very hard to find info about these anymore as I don't have a catalog from that time (but I just love surfing archived sites, and remembering the old collecting days. ) so here is screencap of German retailer in the beginning of 2009. web.archive.org/web/200904171838 ... ts_id/4805 As you can see it was priced at 600€ in 2009. Given the very limited number I don't think the sword will decrease in value. I couldn't find a US retailer that would have had this in stock (for comparison price), but you could search 2008-2009 site from those that usually stock limited Hanwei swords. Granted the very limited availability of these pieces it has much more collector value than the average Hanwei sword. Import tax applies only purchases outside EU. If you live in EU you can purchase products within EU without any extra taxes (as VAT is usually already added to asking price, if not they have to indicate it on the site).

Hi Jussi, thanks for your reply.
Do you know any other good stores in the EU?
