Most beautiful sword ive ever seen. If I ever get rich im gunna have Rob make one of these for me, except with a lion instead of a fleur-de-li and red grip. Im not much of a fan of French history, but jee wizz... This thing is everything I would ever want in a sword. My only possible complaint is that the fleur-di-lis might get distracting in the hand after a while. But god, its beautiful. Everything I would ever want in a single-hander. www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=12179

Rob Miller makes some of the most beautiful swords I have ever seen. I have to rank him at the top with only a few peers when it comes to custom, one-of-a-kind European medieval swords. I don't give karma very often, but you get one from me for bringing this to the SBG group's attention.

www.castlekeep.co.uk/aboutme.phpEven some of there more generic swords are quite attractive. If im ever in the price range for a custom sword, I would definately consider them. One problem would be shipping, as they are in the UK. (Ok, now everyone in australia, England, Asia, and Canada is going "cry me a river, American") And thanks for the karma, Brenno and Mike.

Maybe wirth saying that the fluer de lis is just as much english as it is french.... Well, it was a symbol of England's claim to france. So I suppose that argument could be made. But it certainly carries a french conatation.

So does blue cheese.
Or half of the words in the english language.
If we hated everything french, we might as well revert back to german.
(Hell, the title of your post is a french word)

(Hell, the title of your post is a french word) When did I say I would destroy everything french? Im just saying that if Im gunna spend athousand bucks on a sword I dont want a symbol that has massive french affiliations to take the center stage on its hilt. Sheesh...

wow beautiful stuff! Hopefully this UK sword ban doesnt go any further. Would be a shame if guys like this could not continue to produce these swords. I went to the Castle Keep forums and right away spied "Finnish Viking Sword". Very nice, kinda like the Valkyrie by Albion. Maybe it appeals to me 'cause im of Finnish descent but I quite like it...even though its listed as a Princess' sword, lol.

I never said you said you wanted to destroy everything french.
But if you plan on avoiding it because you don't like French culture, you'll be hard pressed to live that ideal. Much of France and French history is just as American as (warning: cliche alert) apple pie and baseball. (Maybe it's worth noting that without the French, America would not have existed past the signing of the Declaration of Independance).
Maybe you don't like the shape of the fluer de lis? Because to dislike the french is to dislike a huge portion of your own history.
Maybe worth noting also that the English had their tails handed to them in the hundred years war.
(Not trying to be insulting, but it's rather strange to me when americans claim they don't like the french - the majority of them haven't even heard the language spoken let alone known someone who came from there).

Yeah Jak, for sure it's beautiful. I also like that scrolly engraved viking sword. Imagine if this guy has 10 times more difficulty producing his art because of that BS beurocracy. Such a loss to the wider world. He may be forced to give it up and go b ack in hobby status. Sad.

Maybe worth noting also that the English had their tails handed to them in the hundred years war. Not at all, actually... They were basically on their way out by the time Joan of arc got to them. There is a plethora of reasons to dislike the french. Not that I dislike all french, but their culture certainly has bad derivatives.
