Hey Guys, I've got a question, mainly for any of the sword makers out there. I was just wondering if there was any practical way to thin down or lighten a blade? I've got a blade heavy sword that would be great if it was just a little lighter but I'm not sure if there is any decent way for me to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh yeah and the blade already has a fuller in case anyone was wondering.

you could hollow gind the blade, or widen the fuller

I don't think it needs it. It's a very different feel, having a blade heavy sword, and it will certainly grow on you. I found that I prefer blade heavy sword now that I've learned a bit more of their differences in handling.

Ask, and ye shall receive: ![](http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x210/darkintruder/pic_xsection.gif) An alternative to that is just giving it some distal taper. Meaning, take a belt sander or equivalent piece of equipment, and thin the last half of the blade down some. Make sure to keep it nice and even though.

Ah, thank'ee my good man. DI's right, adding distal taper would be the easiest way to reduce the wieght. it may make your fuller look a little less prominant if you take too much off.
