DSA knight is a far more historically accurate sword. It's also got a certain flare to it which I like

DSA swords are unsharpened, though. Gen2's are sharp, and in most cases, SHARP. On the other hand, Arms of Valor will sharpen your Darksword for a nominal fee, and they can put a nice edge on it that will hold through some wicked stuff, it seems. Then again, a Gen2 can hold its own through hell and high water, too.
Myself, I'd probably let AoV sharpen a DSA Norman, if I were looking for another single-hander, but the Knight is nice, too, as is the Gen2 Norman. Really the only benefit I see to DSA vs Gen2 is the former is prettier. At least, the hilts are apparently of slightly better aesthetic value, with better shape and so forth, but Gen2 is certainly not atrocious by any means (not to me, anyway).
If money is no object up to $300, maybe a Witham? Or are Vikings not your "thing?"

The Knightly handles better than the Norman does. The blade tapers more on the Knightly, changing the POB more in favor of the Knightly over the Norman. Though they are both fine swords.

Noted. Now you've gone and made it harder for me, too.

I will put in a word for the DSA Knightly sword too. I have been sharpening and reworking the blade on Centurion's Knightly. The sword is down to 2lbs 14 ozs and handles pretty darned well. All I have done so far is rework the edge geometry to be more "appleseed" in profile. That removed a LOT of steel and this thing is pretty nice. The PoB is out at about 5 inches, but it handles like it's closer and it shows much promise.

I've got a woody for the Windlass XIV too. I bet it cuts better than a DS due to the blade geometry.
Jak, look forward to the review. Finally some details on that sword.

hmm, I'm probly leaning towards the Knight, but I'll do more research. Random, I kinda dont wanna get a Viking now because My friend is obsessed with them, especially because he's from Norway, and he wants to be the Viking guy. He wants me to be the Samurai and Medieval Eauropean guy lol. He has allot of viking swords and everytime me or him get a new sword, we do different types of contests betting for $$$. He's getting a new Viking sword and I'm gonna get my first Medieval european sword, and we are both gonna test them once we both get them.
Thanks for all your suggestions everybody, they reallyy helped...A LOT.

yeah, it's fun though. Swords have been in my mind so much that I sometimes forget about school, even though I have really good grades, I kinda have been slacking off. This will probly be my last sword until summer time. And i'm trying to make sure that it's a good one
