www.valyriansteel.com/shop/sword ... od_21.html I pinged their photo on FB of this about the weight of the sword, any type of profile or distal taper, and how the pommel was secured. But it is at least 1060 and not stainless.

Reply already from them at least on the pommel issue.. Still waiting on the other info:
I'm gonna see if I can get some pictures of the tang, and the weight.. If nothing else, it sounds functional thus far!

Wasn't "Needle" a functional sword from Valyrian?

I thought Needle was still stainless steel like everything else.

Nope it is 1045 carbon steel I don't own one though and don't know about the tang on it, so not sure if it is function. I remembered when Needle came out though it was remarked odd that only Needle was functional. *edit to add, I found out Needle has a rat tail tang. In a review someone mentioned that it had a rat tail but incorrectly said rat tail meant barely penetrating the hilt. An Admin then added to the review to correct the info. Below is a quote of what the Admin posted into the end to the review. So likely not really functional.

Lutel has a similar threaded section welded on at a tiny section and they hold fine. Though i'm apt to agree with you given they responded crazy fast to the question of how it was secured, but decline weight measurements twice, and a picture of the tang.

Seeing as the sword in't released yet..I'd be reserving judgement until it's out in a physical form. Given that they state 'unsharpened' - I'm guessing you could get something functional, and sturdier for about the same price at many places. And are the pommel and guard brass..or just brass plated ?

I was hoping, with a more stable company behind them (HBO) they might up their game. Thus far, other than confirming the pommel is thread, they are refusing any other questions via outright ignoring t hem. Shame, if this were half a decent sword they could have easily made good money.
