Just got it today and it's brand new~ wow, this really shocked me because I am new to rapiers and this is pretty heavy for a thin blade, nice! I love the weight! Anyone got one of these?

Good review. Thank you for posting the video. I really liked thast you took the time to take some good quality photos at the end.
Common misconception is that rapiers are only thrusting weapons but most all historical texts show some cuts.
Do you feel the quality and finishing is worth the $599 usd.
I have to say from the video it looks like a good sharp for the price.

Thanks! This rapier doesn't come ultra sharp but it does cut paper, you can scrap the stone a few times (like 10x) and it will be a razor sharp edge already though. Not hard to tune!
I got mine for $3xx only, and I got it from my student who can get me these things for cheap. Honestly, it really depends if you like the sword style or not. For me, I think it's worth the money!

Thanks! It's a kungfu-styled Rapier form, and it's really designed based on the rapier character too, not from a chinese sword form and using a rapier as a "replacement". But honestly, the WEIGHT really impressed me, i never know such a thin blade can be THAT heavy, haha!

Thanks Mak for the review! I've felt some rapiers before and thought they seemed kinda heavy too.

Watching your review, the sword seemed really long, and apparently heavy, as you said. So I grabbed a MRL catalog and found two similar rapiers. Yours, from a similar model at Coldsteels site weighs around 2.8 to 2.9 lbs. the MRL rapiers both weigh 2.8 lbs and are both 46" long Overall, I think that's with scabbard. I know cut and thrust rapiers are heavier then the ones made into more foils, but 2.8 is pretty stout. It looks like you've got a good flow with it utilizing its point heaviness Well done review.

Thanks!
According to Kult of Athena site, it's Weight: 3 lb 1.2 oz for the Cold Steel one, and yes, I can tell it is really over 3lb because I have a 3.5lb Chinese sword (BIG!) here, and the really weight similar. The Cold Steel rapier is really stunning, for a novice in rapier like me, I have to say that I really really really surprised me and impressed me alot!
