- Valiant armoury bristol - valiant armoury kriegschwert (no idea if i spelled that correctly) - darksword two handed gothic sword (leaf-bladed model) - darksword dark age sword (leaf blade)
I know that all these swords are extremely tough and durable, but I want the sword that could withstand multiple blows to a steel pole and riveted chainmail tough. I saw several videos of the valiant armoury kriegschwert doing some heavy cutting damage to chainmail; however, I was taken aback when I saw that the edge chipped when striking a steel helmet. A darksword blade did not chip at all when striking both a steel pole and the steel helmet. I assumed that this may have been because the valiant armoury sword in that test was the "extra sharp version", but still, I would like some feedback as to who makes more indestructible swords -- Darksword Armory or Valiant Armoury. Any feedback would be appreciated.

DSA: beaters VA: actual swords
Take your pick... though I would suggest a hammer or crowbar if swinging at armor and steel poles is what you intend on doing.

If you want a durable beater that is decent - I recommend LA/G2. These can also cut pretty well.
VA Swords are not what we would call beaters but a good step up from beaters.
DSA swords are not cheap for the beaters they are. Not great to cut with without significant work to the blades. They do make some types that others do not. If cutting is not an issue, DSA is alright.

DSA and Gen2/Legacy Arms have their durability in their overbuilt blades. I doubt they heat treat their blades better than Valiant Armoury or Hanwei in their Hanwei Tinker Line. It is normal for a sword to chip when hitting metal armour. If it does not, it is more probable that its edge is to thick than that it is so well heat treated that it takes no damage, at least when we are talking about these mid range swords...
