I bought the darksword armory 14 C. two hander and I really like this sword. However the first time i took it out for some bottle cutting the grip loosened. I figured I would just remove the pommel and tighten the nut underneath. Having done that and secured the grip the pommel is not tightening down without being perpendicular to the cross guard. Any suggestions? Am I not putting enough muscle behind it to get it the last half turn? It looks like it is butted tight against the handle and I really don't want to strip or break anything.

Have you sent an email to darksword armory about this? This weapon is pretty new, so I don't know if a lot of people have picked it up yet.
I have one on order that should be arriving next week. Can't wait ;D

Get a few washers in different thicknesses that fit the tang (the threaded portion looks like maybe 1/4" diameter in pics?). Assuming the inside of the pommel cutout fits against the internal nut when the pommel is fully "seated", one thickness of washer or another should allow you to get the proper alignment for the pommel.

I spoke with Eyal the owner of Darksword in regards to the issue and he said hand tightening would not be enough.
First make sure everything is aligned properly and put the pommel in a vice (protected by many layers of cloth of course) and then twist with two hands until the pommel is aligned correctly.
Please do this very carefully, and of course feel it out as you progress.
Also, a word about Darksword tangs. Many people think that a tang has to be massive to be strong. It is really all about the heat treating method. DS tangs are heat treated to an RC hardness of 53. This makes them extremely durable as Paul's destruction tests showed.

Noted for future reference ... +1K and thanks.

Thanks for the input guys! Really like the sword, feels like it could be a force to reckon with! Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't strip anything if I made that last quarter turn.
