Hey there. First off, aside from my LoTR display only blades, I'm a total Katana guy. To me they're works of art - the well built ones anyway. I own quite a few different ones. Recently though I've gotten the bug to purchase a European sword and expand on my collection a bit. Like all swords, I research as much as I possibly can before buying anything. Though I'd really rather have the chance to handle one of these blades before buying them, but I don't have that option. There's 2 that I am currently deciding between: 1 - the The Oakeshott Type XIV Medieval Arming Sword by Windlass Or... 2- The Medieval Knight by DSA. I've seen the reviews on SBG and it looks like a really nice sword. Both are really nice in their own way. I'm not going to be cutting anything crazy with them. I would just like to hear from anyone who owns either and let me know how they like the feel of them, and how they like the blade all around. Any input is greatly appreciated Thanks! EDIT: ghrammmerr n stuff

Comparing them side by side:
The Arming is well balanced, light, and fast. It cuts well and has proved not to be too whippy like some Windlass swords.
The DS is tough as nails with a very thick heavy blade. It requires some strength to wield, but can be used to cut about anything.
As I think it has been said before it depends on what you plan on using them for. If you are not planning on doing any heavy cutting go with the Arming.

Hmm, I was actually leaning towards that. I like the idea of a tough little sword. I don't have many swords with shorter blades. A true one-hander would be neat to have.
