Hello, I know there is a Vendor-talk section, but being a new user (poster actually) I'm not able to post there (I couldn't find the 'new topic' button). I wanted to check with you guys if you've ever ordered from this site before: www.medieval-arms.co.ukI'm interested in a helmet from them, but I know there are a lot of fake sites and since I pay with Paypal, in advance, I wouldn't like to have my money taken and get no merchandise in return. Any help appreciated.

Hi Jude. 100% okay! The site is a sistersite of: www.history-revisited.com/home;j ... 1E3890D4C0 which is based in Hamburg, Germany. I did business with them, Mr. Dave Kelly also, see one of his sabre reviews. In fact I just ordered number D19, Royal Navy Dress Sword, from the German site. They represent Weaponedge and/or, UniversalSwords. You are after a helmet, but if you would like to buy a sabre I recommend going through the sabre reviews you will find here: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=13315Just scroll down untill you find Weapon Edge and Windlass. Look for Dave Kelly and Pinotte_1814 amongst others. Very good, with lots of background information. The helmets on these sites are good also. Maybe have a look at the Armour section of the forum for more info. Merry Christmas, cheers,Ulahn.

Thank you so much for the feedback, very helpful. Now (knowing it's a legitimate site), I'm even more excited about my purchase: www.history-revisited.com/detail ... 0-500-b-c- Also, great pointer about the armour section, it was listed last and I hadn't noticed it! A Merry Christmas to you too, Jude

Armstreet also makes good stuff for comparable prices. Most of my armour is from them. They are amazingly willing to customize their basic designs. And I need to get a new helm. One that is properly sized for me. The one I use now is getting badly beat up and never quite fit right (not Armstreet, Red Kaganate, who seems to be out of business). Of course, it was made without me ever doing proper measurements and I never met them toget a proper fitting, so, all told, it's done pretty well for 12 years of SCA use. I'm going to get with Armstreet at Pennsic for proper fitting for my new helm.

Yes, I know about Armstreet, but they're a bit pricey, from what I've seen. I liked the mediaval-arms retailer because it's in Europe and delivers through DHL directly. So no customs tax, which can be quite high.

Hi Jude. If you want to go the custom way, here is a Dutch site: www.celticwebmerchant.eu/They are a branch of the head site in the U.K. , I think of the same name. I did excellent business with them and I think there should not be any import/ Costums problems. Cheers, Ulahn.

That's a great site. They have the model I want, made out of thicker steel, at only 10 euros more. That's awesome, but unfortunately they don't seem to deliver to my country. No problem, I can message them about this, until I get the full monetary resources!
