I never buy swords seconds, and so my blades are all clean blank first blade. But then the jade lion sword come defected and so I think it is a 2nd, but it doesn't have any stamping at all to mark it second, dang.. it even comes with a cracked scabbard, what the heck, NEVER buying from Smoke Mountain Knife again.
My student bought a butterfly swords from them and it came with no sheath, but still, no stamp on the blade too, but the blade is obviously not harden well because he hit the blade on the ground by accident and it already scored the edge, can't be that weak right?! So he return them for defected blade and just buy from another place.. sigh! SMK is hopeless!

Nice review and I enjoyed y'all's other comments. A few years ago I had one of Cold Steel's so called "1860"Hvy Sabres. As was pointed out already, it is actually a copy of the 1840. But anyway, while just a bit too heavy for my personal liking, I found it to be very well made and very well balanced for its size and weight. I ws working back then, was relatively strong, am 6' 1" and weigh around 250 back then and it was not too heavy or unwieldly to me, just a tad too heavy for my personal taste, that is all. I got rid of it but now I regret it. Just thought I would add my two cents!! Freebooter Alabama
