I jsut came across an article today, I thought some of you might like to see it : gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/va ... ories.html To sum it up, a woman shows up at a police station to get rid of an old rifle she inherited from her recently deceased father (who also happened to be a WWII veteran). Luckily, the two officers quickly notice that this old rifle is actually a StG 44, worth enough money to buy a new Civic sedan (or other compact sedan if you're not into Honda's schtuff). The gun is in no working condition, but it is nice to see that it won't be melted into an iron bar, and will probably end up in a collector's hands. I was a bit sad though, to see such a priceless artefact be completely forgotten in a closet for decades, than almost thrown on a pile of garbage.

Yep. A real shame. And people wonder why I hoard up a lot of my stuff!

It's not just a matter of keeping your stuff. Your inheritors must know it for what it is. Or they will do what that woman did when your stuff becomes theirs.

Taran : You have a point. If the former owner of the StG 44 never told his daughter what that gun was, it's no surprise that this gun got almost thrown away.
