I think that zukuri means style of the blade and that this is Unokubi style. What part or design feature of the blade does the NAGINATA-BI part refer to? I like look of the blade on these. the wave fittings and the unusual saya are also pretty cool. This is the listing www.ebay.com/itm/270973114936

Naginata-bi refers to hi (groove) shape.

Thanks. Is there any advantages or dIsadvantages to having this style of hi/ bi compared to others? Or is it just a purely aesthetic difference?

well....the is the "cool factor" to consider.
There sword has the grove cut into just half the sword blade, so that will be a sure conversation starter...
