Funny title for a thread...but the context.
Moved from a house with full metalworking shop and machinery to a very small apartment (Thank you divorce court).
Now of all things started buying swords. Well they need sharpened in limited space. The worst as how to hold the sharpening medium.....ah necessity the mother of invention... Have an end table, kitchen cutting board, and a few odds and ends...
Board straddles the table with overhang, placed screws covered with 1/8" vacuum hose to fit tightly against the table side. No marring, no movement. Next marked off in the center of the board the shape and size of the stones I am using. Made "bumpers" to hold the stones in place without damaging them from a wine bottle cork. Epoxyed them down for a snug fit figuring they'll wear (but be easily replaced) over time.
I an now place the end table in the middle of the living room with board and stones and have plenty of room to sharpened a katana, etc. Easily made, easily stored, easily cleaned up. I an sharpen smaller swords and knives sitting on the couch with the table in front of me. If i can figure out how to load pics I will.

Did you start buying swords because of your ex?

I made on in the 90's due to similar circumstances I used a bi-fold plastic outdoor table and was able to fit all the gear inside the two halves, I'm sure it stopped me from going crazy, meditation is a great thing.

Thanks guys!
No the swords aren't because of the ex......LOL!.........But the 6.5/284 prone gun is! Just kidding of course, it's all well now and very much over. Miss the shop though, gunsmithed for many years building specialized rifles for competition.
