During MRL's Black Friday sale, I decided to take a chance on one of these purely for the way the blade looks. I'm not a huge fan of Roman era swords, but the curve in this one really caught my eye and for only ~ $80 I couldn't pass it up. I plan on doing a full review in the next day or so, but my initial impressions of this sword are pretty good. It's very light, KoA says it's 2lbs 8oz, but it feels like a flat 2lbs. It has amazing quickness in hand and with a proper edge on it, I can see it being a brutish little chopper. The tang is surprisingly wide and ends after the handle stops by about a cm or so. All in all it seems like a sturdy little blade.
Hopefully I have enough time in the near future to do a complete overhaul on the hilt, add a cross guard and new handle, and get it nice and sharp.
Very satisfied with my purchase thus far.

I bought the sword during the deal of the day too. I spent a long time sharpening it and it was worth it. I brought it to the Norcal meetup and it was a hit. It's an excellent chopper as the blade is so wide, it allows it to be very thin. We were able to do silent zero distant cuts with it. Just one piece of advice. After doing my final sharpening job with the leather strop, I set it down at about 4 feet high and it fell and broke one of the edges off the handle. So be careful with the handle and not drop it like me
