Hey guys can anyone help me? I'd like to add a few more fantasy swords to my collection. I was thinking about doing something with a H/T bastard or long sword blade. I thought it would be tough but on the sub $300 end of the market. Plus the H/T blades seems to be a lot of people's choice to do a customized sword project. I saw a post about using a tinker blade with a rapier guard, I think a hanwei guard but i cant find it. Does anyone have any clue what post I'm talking about?

I was just thinking last night that I would love to cut down the tang on a Fullered Bastard blade and have a complex hilt done up for it, but then I saw that the blades aren't being produced anymore. :/

I just did a search, I was misremembering old data. It was the blunts that were discontinued, with the exception of the EMSHS. All of the sharp blades will still be available (but are back-ordered). Apologies for any confusion.
Edit: As for projects, I recall someone talking about/photoshopping a H/T bastard or longsword blade with LOTR-style fittings.

Unlike Frederico I want the blade to fit tight up against the cross guard with no tang exposed. Is the base of the H/T long sword blade to wide to fit between the wire rings of the Pilsen rapier's guard? And I don't think its possible to modify the guard to fit the wide base of the blade, am I wrong?

Does anyone know of any other really cool guards and pommels that with worn with a H/T long sword blade for a fantasy sword project and where to get them?

Off the top of my head, for carbon steel check with- Darkwood Armory Jamesthejust
For custom made furniture available in many materials try- ErenieR @ Yeshuas sword
For the ultimate badassery in Bronze try= Jeffrey Robinson @ Bronze by Jeffrey Robinson Forum member Greybeard may be able to stir something up for you in bronze as well, he does good great looking work.

The Pilsen's guard, is the least favorite rapier guard that I have ever handled. I have sm to med size hands and the Pilsen's guard is to small for me. Darkwood would be a good place to get a rapier or a side sword hilt and if you send him your blade he might make the hilt to fit the blade. I don't know if ErnieR will do it? But you can ask him to see if he will. There is also Zenwarrior, where you can just buy the guard and pommel. www.zenwarriorarmory.com/catalog.php?category=68www.zenwarriorarmory.com/catalog.php?category=44I have the H/T Longsword and this rapier. www.zenwarriorarmory.com/catalog ... egory%3D70 The clam hilt is the same as the swept hilt rapier.

I'm looking for a guard with the look of the guard on the VA Kriegschwert sword or the VA war sword in the review. I want something with the profile of the "Kriegschwert guard" but with side rings or the sweeping wire ring rapier look. I have no problem having one custom made but I'd prefer not to, if anyone knows of any for sale. www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=22573
