how does one convey their custom sword idea to a sword maker when they have no art talent and little experience in the crafting of a blade? For movies and games they have concept art to help guide the final design, and I suck at that, lol. I have an idea i would like to see made, heck the blade design itself is half done (starts with the darksword scimitar). What would be the best way of conveying the picture in my head to others? (my apologies if this has been answered before) Ogre

Honestly I'd just try sketching it out, no matter how bad you are at it. You might make several sketches though, but that's just part of the process.

Another big help is to try to find pictures that show what you mean. if you can find images highlighting what you want, then the maker will be able to cobble them together.

using google images for Scimitar sword nets you - Search About 287,000 results - Now you can go through the images and pick individual bits, handle like this - blade like this - scabbard like this and so on. Then specifications : Material - length - width and so on. Ask within your group of friends, either for someone who draws well or can use a drawing program, finally - browse.deviantart.com/?q=ScimitarThere are thousands of gifted artists on DeviantArt - is you see something close you can ask the originating artist to draw something closer to what you are looking for.
