I've been debating on these two swords for some time now. The Cold Steel Spadroon or the Cold Steel Gentleman's Saber. Both have similar weight, are capable of both cut and thrust, and have the aesthetics I like. I like the straight blade of the Spadroon more, but the synthetic white handle bothers me. Any opinions? Windlass makes a 'smallsword' that's really pretty much spadroon size. Could look into that if you're interested.
Between the two, I do think the spadroon is better looking... if the handle is an issue, unfortunately there's not a whole lot that can be done about that aside from getting an antique and trying to swap out the handles.

Personal taste? I'd go with the spadoon, since I don't like pipebacks. Though, note that CS has apparently switched out the blade on the gentleman with a non-pipeback version.
On the other hand, there's always the fact that you save two hundred bucks by buying the one from KoA. You can, in fact, buy two gentlemen sabers for the price of one spadroon. If I had a hard time making up my mind, I think that would be the deciding factor.

If all you're looking for is opinions, I like the gentleman's saber. I don't know much about 'em, but between those two, I actually think the gentleman's saber is better looking.
