I ordered a katana from st-nihonto, which was shipped EMS on october 27th and has not arrived yet. When I looked on the EMS website it stated that the package was dispatched from the sorting center on the 29th and that was the last entry in the tracking. Does anyone that has ordered from st-nihonto or had EMS shipping before know why it's taking so long or when it should be delivered? I read that it could be delayed because of customs but I'm still not sure

I've never ordered a sword or blade via EMS before, only other kinds of items. Usually it would take about 2 days in between leaving the origin location before I'd get an update of it in the states. This is usually from Japan however - I've never ordered EMS from China before, although it shouldn't be too different. You should try contacting them and asking if they know the current status of it.

First off it will help to know where you are. 12 days is not a long time at all. Was it shipped by air? if so 2 weeks is totally normal for it to make it to North America. I have had hundreds of items shipped EMS and I've had to wait as little as 3 days and as long as 2 months. If shipped by air it usually is under a month, if by boat then... months and months maybe. Now, all this is prior to any hold by customs; in Canada where I am customs usually holds the item for an additional week. Again though, sometimes they don't inspect it at all and don't hold it at all, and other times I've had them hold a package for 3 weeks... I would not worry yet. Just keep an eye on the tracking

I'm in California. I've had my eBay swords arriving at my door anywhere between 5-8 days from the date of the EMS site accepting the shipping order. Since you're on the East Coast, it'll take longer. Hope you're doing well after the hurricane.

Yea I have my tracking number. Thanks for the well wishes, the area I'm in at the moment barely got touched by the storm at all, but back in new york city where my parents are it got hit pretty badly. My family is alright though, so I'm glad.

Oh that's good, I'm glad everything's alright. Track our package via EMS and USPS. It'll show where it is atm. USPS Especially. My package was transferred from EMS to USPS in New York.
