Hey guys, Been reading the forums for I guess a couple of years on and off now, Finally decided to join. I'm Matt, live in Canada, Ontario. Currently I have a PPE that I've never really used, Had it for a while, just use it as display mostly, I'd like to use it someday, I guess my main reason I haven't is I would prefer to have some proper training rather than just go out and built a bad technique foundation. I also have a DA Medieval Knight one handed sword, which I would also like to try out some day. I own a few firearms also, A modern rifle (for hunting) a 1952 Russian SKS which has a bayonet on it A replica of a black powder "pirate pistol" and lastly a .40 cal Glock handgun. Mainly use them at the range and do some hunting when I have the time. I recently got into traditional bow making, and Have made my first medieval style longbow. I plan to pursue that and make many more different types of bows, I also started making arrows myself too.. And back to the swords! I'd love to increase my collection much more, and learn how to properly use them. If anyone has any tips, let me know. or even better if anyone knows of any JSA schools in the southern Ontario area I wouldn't mind getting some real instruction. Look forward to talking with you all, bye for now!

Ahoy! Welcome to the fabulous world of registered membership! That's awesome that your learning to make bows. You should share some pictures, I know a lot of us would love to see them. As for learning to use a katana, here are a few videos. They are a part of a much larger series of videos, all of which are viewable on YouTube. The instructors on the videos are very well known and respected ones, not just a couple of guys, so the content is very high quality. Enjoy! forum.sword-buyers-guide.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=6844
