Hello fellow SBG forumites! I know I've been in this community for years but always kept rather quiet. Now I decided to put up my arms and show you what I got. I've bought many swords and sold many more over the years . I'm a man of many interest and hobbies.
Left to right: On the far left I bought the prototype for the DSA new Sting sword that for whatever reason Eyal decided not to put into production. I think it is a mistake. It handles well despite having a very blade heavy point of balance of 6 3/4 inches. it is only 2.7 pounds or so and it looks spectacular. There is lots of play in the scabbard but other than that the scabbard is well put together. The edge is very steep but I think I am going to leave it alone because I don't want to ruin the etching in the process of sharpening. I may keep the sword I may sell it not sure. I just joined my local Adrian Empire chapter and I am working on buying blunt swords and armor so I'll have to see. The next sword a DSA Messer, it is the same one Odingaard of Crusader Monk Scabbards designed in the DSA design contest a year or two ago. I designed a suspension for it that is somewhat period, sharpened it, and narrowed the guard a bit.
The sword next to it is a Del Tin Moonbrand replica. The scabbard I have had for a while and was made by DBK custom swords for an Albion Yeoman. I sold the Yeoman bought a DSA Dageese which even after lightening it by thinning out the last third of the blade and sharpening it and regripping it I wasn't happy. I sold it and bought the Del Tin. I shortened the Del Tin two inches to fit the scabbard, sharpened it, and regripped it. I like it more than the Yeoman I had, it handles and cuts like swords of legends and is stunningly beautiful. The dagger in the middle is DSA an old one. My friend redid the scabbard, grip, and sharpened it. The great sword of war next to the dagger is a Del Tin 5143 with grip, rain guard, and sharpening done by me and the scabbard by Crusader Monk. The Sword next to that is the Gen 2 Teutonic Knight sword that Odingaard redid the scabbard on it for me. I reviewed it in the review section of this forum. I repofiled the guard and blade rounding it off distal tapering it and making it lenticular plus redoing the grip. The last sword, the Windlass on the far right is a type XI is a Create your Own Sword, the same one Odingaard did a review on. I sharpened the sword and lightened it by distal tapering the blade.
