Ever since I saw Willow when I was little I have always wanted to have a copy of the sword Sorsha had in the movie. I have been looking around for about a year to try and find someone who will make it. About a week ago I was checking out Ollin swords and noticed that they had made one before. I was surprised since I've been on their site many times but never noticed it. I tryed sending emails and calling with no luck but it's only been a few days. I just wanted to know what everyone thinks of the sword and who else might make a good tough copy of it. www.ollinsworddesign.com/osd-custom-CSSword.html

Wouldn't this be a perfect project for Brendan at Fable Blades?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I might have to ask and see what he says.

It looks quite true to the original, at least. As for functionality - I dunno, maybe the grip could be shorter, the rings lighter, the teeth a bit subtler... there's a lot about the proportions and some details I'd like to tweak, but the basic concept seems entirely workable. Heck, if I find the time, I'll make this a new entry on the fantasy sword redesign thread.

I would try to find a way to take some weight off the guard and maybe shorten the handle. But I'd keep the blade the same. And maybe change the pommel to a scent stoper. I just wish there was a way to make the sword lighter without changing the shape of the blade and guard.

I think the shape of the guard is just fine, it just doesn't need to be quite that thick. You could shave off a good bit of excess weight right there.
