I felt like introducing myself before starting any topic.
A few info about me: i hail from Italy, i'm a 21 years old student and i'm currently studying chemistry at university. I was very interested in the properties of materials in general, and so i'll most likely specialize in materials chemistry. I strive to become the most knowledgeable when it comes to steel, whatever type it is.
I've always felt like i had the blood of a warrior flowing in my veins; i've got quite a big ego and i always fight whatever adversities life presents. I'm also very proud.
Anyways, weapons of any kind always puzzled me, especially the old ones that required training or strength; i'm not a fan of guns or other "easy" gadgets. I've been collecting some ninja stars for a while, then some knives, but it wasn't nothing really serious or expensive. When i was around 11-12, i asked my parents to buy me a sword i had seen in a store: i got ripped. Why ripped? Because when i lately felt like using it, i couldn't refrain myself and i started swinging it brutally, using all my strength (i've got a good constitution and i'm enough big and strong) and guess what? A rat-tail. The handle remained in my hand.
I started wondering about actually buying a good sword that wasn't just a wall-hanger and came across this guide: i basically read everything, from what and where to look for to how use and maintain it; i also spent some time in reading the many reviews about the swords. I eventually found out that the sword i had bought back then was exactly the same model shown here www.sword-buyers-guide.com/image ... l-tang.jpg (the fantasy sword with the rat-tail) and i chuckled.
Thanks to you i found exactly what i was looking for: a big and powerful sword that required strength; i was willing to get the two handed great sword from ColdSteel, but first i have to sort out some papers stuff because in my country you have to denounce you got a white weapon and other silly things. This also turns to be quite problematic, to be honest, since i can't find any store in Italy that sells that item. I can only hope to have it imported and hope that i won't have to wait months before getting my hands on it.
Oh don't worry, i'm not going around killing people .
