Hi all, got in the custom iaito from Shiobiya (Samurai Market) that I ordered a couple of weeks ago. Very please with the work. I'd say it's the same level of quality of a Tozando (I have one of those, and have had two others pass through my hands). In fact, I'd say that it was made in the same shop as Tozando uses. The prices that Shinobiya charges are a little nicer than Tozando's prices, though, and I've found the service at Shinobiya to be great. Ordered an iaito, based off this one: www.ebay.com/itm/320833183334with a few custom changes - no bo-hi, slightly shorter blade, slightly longer handle, kuroro saya, brass habaki and seppa. Total price was $600 USD, including shipping. Sword came in this week. It was well packed (paper over bubble-wrap over box over plastic over foam sheeting over sword). I was very happy when I finally got down to the sword itself - beautiful work. Perfect fit and finish. Actually, I can't think of a single flaw on this sword. The noto is smooth and easy. Just the right amount of stick. Everything is solid. Lines are all good. Koigouchi is beautiful. Sageo was not tied too tightly, so no damage there. Even the habaki fit is great. Did I mention I'm very happy with this iaito? I feel kind of bad about undoing all the tsuka-maki to customize the thing further, but it needs to be done. I'll post up some construction pics when I start unraveling everything. Thanks, jason
