Can anybody help me out with ID on this sword. Bought it 20 years ago from some catalogue, no idea the maker or seller. Don't believe its any kind of antique, just some modern repro. Worth anything? Even worth putting up for sale? I am usually posting in the medieval forum so I have really no idea. Thanks in advance.

I was curious on this one, it's a very unusual looking sword. Quick Google search of "US Military Short Sword" found this: www.ima-usa.com/u-s-m1832-artill ... bbard.html

Not a bad looking replica. Made me stop and look. The scabbard is stapled together where it should be bolted. The inspection markings are missing from the hilt. Blade geometry is off a bit for regulation.
Can't quite make out the the blade markings.

On one side of the blade is an eagle, the other side has -
United States
1841 (although the "1" could be a "7") WS
