Hi all, I only saw one post on this particular sword: www.darksword-armory.com/product ... 327-saber/ No reviews though. Anyone have recent hands on experience with this one? Thanks~!

Huh, looks like DSA refurbished their website again. Also, can't seem to find the 1327. Wonder if they discontinued it?
To answer your question, I've never seen any reviews of it. It doesn't appear to have been very popular. Though, I've had some interest in the blade, myself.

The 1327 Saber is on the Medieval Weapons II link, about half way down the list. I've seen *somewhere* this shape historically, I'm just really curious how it flows, the PoB is so close to the hilt...
It's not discontinued, they would have told me when I emailed about changing the handle color from that icky blue...

Nope, can't find it no matter how much I look. Weird.
IIRC, Christian Flecher made some swords in that general style way back. I think they might be inspired by Renaissance infantry backswords like the Del Tin 5159, but don't quote me on that.
POBs in and of themselves are not as important as most people think. A light sword is still light no matter how it is balanced and a heavy sword is still heavy even with a low POB. The balance of a sword is a product of its mass distribution, and with poor mass distribution you will get a sword that has a low POB but still feels incredibly clumsy and awkward. That was one of the first lessons buying from DSA taught me, as a matter of fact.
That said, this isn't a very big weapon to begin with, and the stats do look pretty reasonable, so I presume it's a relatively quick and manouverable sword.

I agree, DSA has changed their website, and I emailed them with a few suggestions, since some of it doesn't work so well. (try looking at a price with a sheathe, the box is smaller than the text) I'm not sure why this one sticks in my head, maybe it's just my inner Magpie looking at something shiny.... Maybe if they go on sale...
