Hello everyone!
I just registered for this forum, and was happy to find an 'introduce yourself' topic - a similar topic was greatly appreciated by both new and existing members of a forum I used to frequent. So here goes!
My name is Bram, I'm 35 years of age, and I live in The Netherlands. As I assume will be true for many of you, my interest in Euro swords first surfaced in my youth. My very first stainless steel wall-hanger, a Marto given to me by my father, has been a cherised possession for well over two decades now. Brittle though it may be, the chromium did its job - it still looks the part ;-)
My lingering interest in Euro swords was rekindled recently, when I stumbled upon a HEMA group in my city. I had previously considered, but dismissed, LARP and reenactment as outlets for my passion - no judgment (honestly!), but neither are really my thing. HEMA, however, fits like a glove and inspired me to learn about, seach for, and purchase 'real' Euro swords.
Still, I have many questions and much to learn. Joining these boards seemed like the logical next step. And so, your latest n00b salutes you!
