This sword arrived today. I bought it from the German firm www.stahlwarenhaus-hebsacker.de/ ... heide.html Torn between the Windlass German Bastard sword and the German hand and a half sword , I ordered the latter because I read some posts complaining about the too short blade of the German Bastard and how nice it would be to use a much longer Del Tin blade or some such. The point of this post is that I would like to know whether my sword is a pre Bastard model since I cannot find anything about it on the Web, no reviews, nada. If it is an older model than I have to say it is a very well made sword with nice detailing on the guard and pommel and very well handling in two hand mode. Heck, even the scabbard has a good fit and all of this joy for a lousy Eu 207, including shipping, HA ! So if there is a Forumite out there willing to tell me more about this piece of excellence (for me anyway), I would like to hear from him/her. Thank you very much.

wow. haven't seen one of those sence forever ago, it was in production when the used to make a estock, and the saxon cut and thrust sword, along with other great windlass swords like the Orian, landsknecht war sword, etc. an you probably wont find any revievs on it. very well made and can take alot of abuse, though i don't think you plan on destroying if you did you would have a hell of a time trying to do so.
can't belive some one still has them in stock.

Thank you very much for your reply. I most certainly do not plan to destroy this sword, it is a beauty. It is a mystery to me where they got this batch and I do not know whether they got more of them, but they took good care of them. Not a crack in the leather, nor the tiniest speck of rust to be seen. What do you think, maybe others here on the Forum might be interested? Do you think it a good idea to post this on another thread? Maybe the Manufacturers Forum? It is still listed on the site. Anyway, thank you for your insight. It is good to know my nose did not deceive me.
