I'm looking at the possibility of getting a Chinese broadsword. I really liked the review on the main page of the Hanwei version, but both are discontinued. what good versions of this sword are out there? I obviously want decent quality, fast, sharp, tight, handles like the Hanwei is supposed to. as long as bottles are not a problem for it, cheaper is definitely better. I am on a non-defined, as low as possible budget

Neither is discontinued; they're apparently just on the list of items that Hanwei retails directly. The practical version is currently going at 234$, but I personally don't think it's worth that much because of the scabbard; I've got one and I hate that scabbard, though everything else is rock solid. The other version is 265$ and, while it's not a thrilling price, I could probably live with it if I was going to get one myself, though you can get it at Kult of Athena for 210$ for the time being. Other than those, however, the only people I know of who make quality swords and also make dao are Kris Cutlery, but with their cheapest going for about 275$, they're more expensive than Hanwei.
