Adrian- me too Josh - it's just plain old pine. I made a lemondae stand for my wifes photography business and had some left over. I chose the cheaper variety- the knotty pine - because she wanted that "old wood board" look and the knots show well through antiqued painting

really nice effect, to be honest on the first picture i thought someone sh@t on your stand to make the stain but afterward i reread what you wrote and then took a look at the other pictures and thought it looked very nice! that what happen when you sleeping well and then wake up because of a kid who plays with fireworks and are not completely awaken :lol:
might take partially the idea though i'm not sure if i should make a tachi-kake or a katana kake... made of pine of course.

etienne - nope, that wasn't the stain trick I tried I would have preferred it all look like normal stained wood but oh well, too lazy to start over so I get a beat up looking one lol
