here is a little review to first show the work of jw hot steel forge from ebay i am not affiliated to them in any way other than buying this sword i have not put a tape measure on it to see if my dimensions ordered are rights, though they seem right this is what i ordered Custom zatoichi straight style sword with kogarasu’maru zukuri blade T8 and 15n20 damascus, 2000 layers honsanmai lamination style Ochoji clay hamon 22”blade 10” handle 30” custom saya with hauli(Chinese rosewood) and rubber stopper Fair amount of niku special endcap with rubber stopper for cane Special lock Should have in 3 weeks i didnt get the ochoji hamon, it seems i got a standard wave style hamon, though it does look good it was supposed to be 2 weeks to make and about 1 week for delivery. it took about 6 weeks to get made and a 1.5 weeks to deliver. he said he found a defect in the folding while sharpening the first sword so he remade. the wood turned out to be beautiful with amazing grain pattern. the locking system turned out better than i could have imagined the extended saya is nice and heavy the rubber and reinforced bottom is also nice work the sword has a good heavy feel, but also feels lively, the balance is about 3" from lock/end of wood handle. i have not cut anything with this, though it feels sharp. it could be sharper, but i did ask for max niku he felt comfortable with making. enjoy crappy pics

Is this the ebay seller? I just tried to search for them on Ebay, but they're not selling anything. Where did you get the sword from? stores.ebay.com/jwhotsteelforge

yes thats where i got it. i dont know if they are backed up for a while and took down listings so they can catch up, but they have been seller for very long time with good feedback, most every feedback i saw on sword was good, and the other parts people said it fit correctly and have good craftsmanship www.ebay.com/itm/SAN-MAI-FOLDED- ... 256fdd2bc5 the owner jian is good communicator with me and english communication is good and easy to understand. i did most of my communication through email and bought my custom sword through paypal/email not ebay

i didnt put a tape measure on, but the back side is sharpened about 6" and the termination is about 7.5"
