Hi. I recently acuired my first blade with more traditional materials. Now I've discovered a small inconsistency in the wood of the handle and I'm unsure wether its just an optical flaw or a possible and dangerous breaking point. Could someone here help me analysing it? Thanks!

It looks like it's just a pit in the wood and doesn't go all the way in through the core. How thick is the handle? If the handle is as thick as a "normal" sword handle, I doubt something that shallow will cause catastrophic failure while using the sword.

Yeah, looks like an optical flaw to me too.
