So a while back David Ledoyen, who runs At the Royal Sword, put his swords on sale. Being a huge fan of cutlasses and hangers, I couldn't pass up the chance to check the work of a new (to me anyway) supplier. David is in Canada, but at the time of the sale he had a shipper in the US to help us Americans save some shipping bucks (I can't find anything about it on his website currently). The swords are made of 1075 steel. The fit and finish are not bad. The blade has some grind marks. The brass needs some polishing. The fitting at the mouth of the wood core scabbard has a few marks and some excess glue. The handle is bone and has a couple scars. The sword exhibits no looseness in the fittings although the sword sits loose in the scabbard. To me this feels more like a re-enactor sword than a cutter or fencing weapon. That could be because I am used to heavier more substantial weapons, though. The blade does not come sharp and I haven't decided whether I should have it sharpened. Pictures: I notice At the Royal Sword now has a selection of British and American swords, including some nice looking monster head and lion head hangers with green bone grips. I will be checking one of those out some time. (I'll be adding more information as I can to this post.)

Thanks for being the point man on this.
QC sounds a bit rough. DL prices are very competetie for what he is offering.
HAven't been to the site in some time. Need to check out what's new.

You should do a proper review for this sword Pogo4321. If you need this sword sharpened, you know where to go

Nice to see someone finally bought that sword, I've been curious about it ever since I saw it.
