Hello all. I was wondering if a kind soul or two would mind measuring the width of the guard on their Qing Jian for me? I am attempting to make a wooden jian and I have an image of the guard but it is not to scale. If I can get that dimension then I can scale it out to correct size. The image I have is basically the "long quan" style. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

aprox 4" would work, maybe 3.75.... all would depend more upon harmonic and balance.

For custom fittings: If one was to give you a basic concept, would you be able to work from there, drawing on how you see the concept based on the description provided, or does one need to bring the design to you for final modification to fit the blade?
