I have an older ATrim 1420 with the flat pommel nut. I was wondering what the prefered method for removing and reinstallation is? My other Gus Trim swords are hex nuts. Attachments:

something like mole grips with leather in the jaws will help avoid chewing the nut,i have an older a trim with the same raised nut,i just filed a couple of flats on it and use a spanner for tightening or dissassembly

here you go,nothing specialIMAG0344.jpgIMAG0343.jpg locking vice grips with nylon jaws or leather padding will do the job without having to file the flats,or you could pm tom k for a replacement hex nut (something i always planned on doing but never have )

Thanks again. As a huge fan of Gus Trim swords, the pommel on your sword has me intrigued to see the rest. Are there pics posted elswhere on the forum?

If it's a standard 6mm x 1mm metric thread, then any online fencing supply shop will sell you some inside hex (allen key) nuts for a couple dollars a piece. They're a standard fencing supply item. There's even some on ebay.
Talon that engraving is kickass. I wish I could engrave like that! Did he do it by hand? Like with a hammer and graver... Wow... Maybe I need to put down my dremel and get some hand tools...

No worries Curtis. For sure Talon. I'm going to do some pommel/ guard engraving soon into brass, and I will be making myself some gravers to start practicing. I'm excited.
