I got my bokken and jo from Ninecircles USA today and I'm very happy with the weapons. Now I do heard somewhere on this forum that I need to treat or oil or sand my wooden weapons before I use them to ensure that they last long. What does this mean exactly? This is my first time investing in some good quality wooden weapons, so I would love to know how to maintain them. If anyone can show me how to treat/maintain wooden weapons, much appreciated

Depends. To begin with, are they bare wood, lacquered, or maybe impregnated with resin or oil?
If it's bare wood, what I usually do is get a bottle of linseed oil; lightly sand the wood, rub on (and in) a moderate amount of oil and wait for it to be soaked up, then repeat the steps (sand, oil, wait) several more times before use, and then at reasonable intervals depending on frequency of use and atmospheric conditions. The idea here is to saturate the wood with harmless oil so there's no room for undesired substances like moisture and the salty, greasy gunk from your sweaty hands to seep in. You can do the exact same thing with lacquer or resin, too, if you prefer those, and of course there are many slightly more involved things you could do if you're not as lazy as I...
If it's already treated in some way, you don't need to do anything right away, just touch it up now and then so the wear from handling doesn't undo whatever treatment it has.
