www2.knifecenter.com/brand/366/Bad-Blood-KnivesAlright, the name sounds cool and the models look alright. However, I see a couple of red flags. I still haven't found the kind of steel that they use (the site says it is ground and stainless, but that's doesn't tell much about the steel itself ...) and the company has no website of its own. Also, these are made in China. Still, the models look okay. I'll wait to see if a review or any other feedback pops out on bladeforums before taking the plunge though ...

Hm, I dunno, they look a lot like every other knife I've ever seen...and their prices are about the average for such. Apparently they're "designed" by this guy: www.kendrickhandmadeknives.com/And produced via these guys: www.hallmarkcutlery.com/site/home.aspxBut I can't say I'm interested. Then again, I've never been one for tactical knives. They also seem a bit on the stubby side... The only one that even piqued my curiosity was the "Partisan" fixed blade...which is only 3 7/8" long. Sheesh, at least go the whole four inches... Still, going to see what the reviews look like.

I like the shape of the Raiju. I'd love to get a knife custom made in that shape out of a known steel by a known maker with a cool little hamon.

I too like that Raiju, but dislike the fact that it is made in an unknown steel by an unknown maker Random : You're right, these knvies aren't very different from others on the market... We'll see what the first buyers say ...

Thanks Slav, that's a cool website. The guy makes some sick blades, impressive stuff.

Burchtreeblades are very expensive folders, especially the ones with hamon. They average around $700.00 for a 3 inches folder.

It's all relative. That's the same price as a mid-range William Henry. And I'd much rather have a one of a kind custom with hamon.
I remember back when he was selling most of his tantos and fixed blades for $175-400 range

You are right. I believe the prices are more than fair considering the labor and artistic merit. But I am not sure I am ready to have one of those folder in my pocket as a EDC. It is more than twice the most expensive EDC I actually carry. It is also easier to be ruined than a William Henry (carbon steel versus stainless). I don't mind patina on my bushcraft knives, but not a nice folder with hamon. It is most likely will be a safe queen.

Yeah, if I got one it would be my gentleman's knife. The one you would wear to a gathering or banquet as a conversation piece.
I'm not sure I'll ever feel the need to go above my $75 griptilian for EDC. It does everything I need, and I've already lost one and didn't cry too much over it.
I have been throwing around the idea of a WH knife. I work at an authorized dealer and their employee discount is phenomenal. That was until I revisited burchtree just now...

Knife Center lists the steel now. 8Cr14 is the Chinese designation for AUS-8 steel. Common steel uses by Cold Steel and CRKT.

That is exactly what I thought. Thanks Slav for writing it and thanks Sebastien for sharing. I like them. About 6 months ago I put handles on an eBay D2 steel. I used Buffalo horn. The only difference is the tang and blade have a slight pistol grip slant. It is one of two stainless steel fixed blades in my collection...

Don't ask me why, but the spiraling demise caught my eye. I might give it a whirl, even if the name is rediculous.
Upon further , it looks like these might actually be a good deal for the money (especially from knife center.) I've only seen reviews for the Harbinger, but they where positive, and highlighted some details the basic stats and pictures don't. I've vastly exceeded my knife budget for this month, but when I make a purchase some time in august I'll post a formal SBG style review.
The two factors that tipped my favor where the well executed jimping, and the tank like liners. It also has a solid G10 stopper, and a nice pocket clip. This is all second hand info for now, but it's something to consider. Thank you Sebastien' for finding my new folder.

At Slav and Student. Those were awesome. If I got one it would be a display with a watchdog to keep it.
As for Bad Blood. I found a few I really liked and was going to post here. But I could not find the steel type so I ordered a Boker with AUS 8. Sorry, Sebastien. I could have solved the riddle. I hope someone buys one and shares. I will probably get one. It is between a Bab Blood and a Kershaw.i just wait a bit to make some money. If I were wealthier what would I spend my time on?

That Spartan fixed blade gives me semprinis in places I didn't know I had dicks. I'm going to have to save a nice high res of it and get it custom made in high carbon by this guy some day: helmforge.blogspot.com/I think it would look very nice with a slightly polished forge finish. Great find!

I live within not unreasonable day-trip distance to the guy, when I get a piece done I'll have to head down to pick it up I think, and then, you know, beg him to take me on as an apprentice
He's probably the only "vendor" guy on ZombieSquad that we all love, probably because he also posts some great advice in any knife making threads.
