I found this sword washed up on the beach a few weeks ago. I have done some research online and can not find ANY info. on it. It has a wooden handle, a curved point, and a few notches on each side, one being a semi-circle towards the tip. Any info. would be helpful. Thank you Attachments:

It's one-half of a wallhanger replica set of Katen Kyoukotsu from the manga/anime Bleach.

Now I'm curious. I wonder why it was in the sea.
Perhaps an anime fanboy swore a life of non-violence. He sat on the edge of the earth and after contemplating the deeper ebbing and flowing of the tides; gave up his sword and cast it into the swallowing waters.
It's a mystery.

Pirates are roaming your coastline, issue a small craft warning and seek safe haven.

To all that replied, thank you so much for the info. and fun thoughts. Why in the world was it on the beach though? Anyone want to buy a super old, super cool sword in presitine condition? J/k

You're still more convincing that most eBay auctions. Done deal. It'll have washed up there after an angry mother dumped it over a pier or something.

You find this just walking along a beach and other people go and buy metal detectors and just find pocket change. I think you got the better deal. Finding a sword washed up on a beach just has so much more cool points.

If anyone is aware of that blade in functional materials let me know. That thing looks like it could be a mean cutter.

Vincent identified that sword within 5 minutes of the OP.
I think that Vincent is a Pirate.

I am just blown away that a hunk of metal can move across the ocean floor and find it's way to the beach at all. Last I checked metal sinks. I am wondering if someone just didn't drop it where it was found.
