After months of deciding on my next sword, I finally made the plunge and bought the Vakra and the Urban Bone Machete. Know the long process of waiting the a few months for them to arrive. I also noticed on facebook that Zombie Tools has some new designs coming out. So far they announced a tanto. From the pictures it looks pretty nice. It also sounds like they are coming out with a Wakizashi. They haven't actually said anything but from the hints it sounds like it. Thought that maybe some of you guys might like to know if you already didn't. If you want to see the tanto check it out on facebook. This is a description from ZT facebook about the tanto NEW BLADE WITH NEW LOGO! Here's one of the two new blade designs we'll release next week - the as-yet-unnamed tanto. The tanto is the small blade in the classic samurai troika of tanto/wakisashi/katana, which makes it pretty easy to guess which blade we'll be announcing next. The blade sports our new logo etched with our new magic electro-etching machine. The basic specs: 14 inches total length, 8 inch blade, full tang. Also, the skulls in the image were created by ZT friend and LA special effects artist, Harold Scot Clark. Now on sale here: zombietools.net/t_shirts_plus/

You will love the Vakra. I have one, it's very well made. Definitely worth the money.

That's good to hear. When I first heard about Zombie Tools from SBG forums I looked at their site and that was the first thing that I seen and I just had to have. Then it was a toss up between the Urban Bone Machete and the Hellion. Finally I decided on the machete. I ordered both of them with the hammered finish so hopefully I get that finish.

Just an update from Zombie Tools Facebook page.
NEW BLADE DESIGN! Introducing the Zakasushi, inspired by the wakizashi, the mid-sized blade in the Japanese samurai troika. The wak is a single-hand, or hand-and-a-half blade, often worn traditionally with the full sized katana. Our wak is 30.5 inches total length with a 22-inch blade, .204 steel width, and weighs in at 2 pounds, 6 ounces. The Zakasushi can be paired up with our Apokatana, or used singly in close quarters or by the smaller warrior.
The Zakasushi, the Apokatana (redesigned to match) and the tanto will be onsale on the website near the end of the week here:

They look pretty nice. I just placed an order for some other blades, but I might have to get these later this year. Unless I can win them. Here is an update today from Zombie Tools today.
DAISHO OF THE APOCALYPSE: Here's the new samurai set from ZT: Apokatana 2012 (bottom), Zakasushi (mid), and the still unnamed tanto (top).
Specs on the Apok 2012: 39.5 inches total length, 28 inch blade, 10.5-inch usable grip, weight 3lbs.
We'll have these blades for sale in the next few days. We're also considering auctioning this first set with stand. More details to come.

Finally after waiting a few months for the swords to be made and a few more months of being on the road working, I finally made it home to open that brown box in the closest at my grandparents house. I guess this is just a short review since I'm just getting back to town and getting settled back into being home. I ordered these swords I guess back in May and know its November, so I was a little worried that during that time they have some rust on them. I guess I'm lucky that I live in a dry climate since I haven't seen any rust on the blades. Pulling the blades out of the box they were in their sheaths. They are nicely made. I can't remember what they are made from right off hand. Best I can think of is a hard plastic. What surprised me was was to pull the blade out. I guess I was thinking that they would pull out with ease. It actually takes a little effort to pull them out. After looking at the sheath I noticed that they make them to wrap around the handle to help keep them in place better. I can shake them upside down and they won't fall out unless I shake them vigorously then they might come out. The Vakra I ordered with a hammer finish. Damn I really think its sexy. I just love the looks of it. I guess the best I can describe it is that it looks like its old and used. It looks like its been sitting in a barn for ages. I just love it. The blade is sharp. It could use a little more work but not much if any. The handle is wrapped in leather and is nicely done. The Urban Bone Machete I ordered with the hammer finish. Just like the Vakra I really like it. This blade doesn't seem as sharp as the other. If anyone has seen this blade there is a 3 inch section on this blade. Kind hard to describe. I don't know if the blade was designed to be sharp there or not. It's pretty dull at that point. The rest of the blade is fairly sharp just that section isn't. Other than that I'm happy with this blade. On a side note it looks like they discontinued this style. I ordered the Urban Bone Machete 2011 When I get time I will try to do a review but since I don't have my computer up and running yet and my camera is still packed up somewhere in my luggage. I'm not the best at cutting yet so my reviews are just going to be based on appeal for myself.
