Hi guy's
Euhm,i was wondering, now for this summer if i gonna buy a new blade,it decided it will be the Hanwei GSOW or the savoy, now recently i have sent in an email to the knight shop uk and i asked some question how flexy there hanwei GSOW could be but the answered me with this one.
***Hi Many thanks for your enquiry The choice is really down to personal preference as both swords are verygood. The Great Sword of War is good for heavier targets but the whole TinkerPearce range is discontinued so if you want one I would recommend youpurchase one now before they are gone forever. The Savoy in terms of overall quality is better but that of course isreflected in the price as it costs twice as much as the Tinker.***
So is it true that they will not be made anymore?
Cause if it is,i might buy the GSOW instead the savoy if they are getting discontinued. And than might send in the GSOW to sonny to make it into a nicer blade.

I have had 2 of the GSOW over the last few years. Not sure what they sell for now, but they were a bargain for what the old prices were. My favorite Hanwei Tinker is the Norman.
Anyway, both swords are good. With Sonny doing his magic on the GSOW, it will be even better. Guess it boils down to if you want a bastard sword or a war sword. My pref is for peened pommels, so the Savoy is offered with a peen option.

The whole Tinker Pearce line is going to be discontinued? Are we talking the Hanwei Tinker line? If so I haven't heard anything from Hanwei about that happening...

They discontinued all of the Blunt models a while back, and ATM Hanwei isn't actually producing any swords. I haven't heard of the H/T line in it's entirety being discontinued though.

What Sean said. They've discontinued the blunt models (I don't remember why, but I think it had something to do with the edges being too thin for safety), but I can't find anything anywhere about their sharp line being discontinued. However, due to the fire in their factory last year, they've halted production of pretty much everything for awhile while it's repaired/rebuilt.

troubling news if the ht euros are being dicontinued i own the gsow and the ht longsword (never handled the ls yet as greybeard is working his bronze magic on it ) apart from edge grind issues and rather plain scabbard and hilt furniture, they are still the go to euro blade for the first time buyer (well they were when the prices were what they were) still they are a great customizing base the gsow does have a fair bit of flex, but i still wouldn't call it overly whippy, its a big dedicated war sword with little thrusting potential against armour, but mine is still one of my favourite swords, get it now don as that 40% discount wont last

Actually this discounted all of their blunt swords except for the longsword. Though I have no evidence to back this up to me it looks like a simple marketing decision, I bet that the blunt longsword is the only one that was selling all that well.

i have the GSOW and LOVE it, its 100% the ideal sword i always pictured a 2 handed sword being in my head, mines currently bieing customized ATM so ive only got to play with it a litle bit, it does have a fair ammount of flex though, and id consider it whippy, but a piece of thick long steel like that is bound to have some flex to it, better than snapping or taking a set

he saito,i got a question,i just looked in that site you gave me,and if i order my GSOW,i would indeed change a few things, like the plain pommel and hilt,so if i buy a pommel of there's and a hilt,i can just mount that on the GSOW?
