I have been saving money to get a decent jian, and have been aiming Huanuo Jue Yun Jian from sevenstarstrading.com (sevenstarstrading.com/site/huanuo/jueyuejian/).
Of course, before I buy a $1K sword, I like to do some research first. However due to my very poor Chinese skill, I'm getting more confused now than before...
Seems like there is another sword called Guan Xiao Jian (贯霄剑) that looks just like Jue Yun jian...
I saw it on GRTC post by Charles Wu (forum.grtc.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1113)
Huanuo got in its website a sword called 冲霄剑 (Chōng Xiāo Jiàn) - the difference seems to be in grip only (can't really see the blade, unfortunately)

Is it really the same sword (with different name) or actually different swords? Perhaps someone who is familiar with Chinese history/Qing Dynasty sword can provide some insight... My understanding that this sword is actually a historical replica (based on sevenstars description)
The fitting is accurate, I guess... the blade, not so... because the original seems to have some kind of engraving/horimono on it...
I have spent this afternoon doing google image search to collect decent collection pictures of Guan Xiao Jian/Chong Xiao jian/Jue Yun Jian for comparison.
This is the original antique (called 出云剑 - Jue Yun Jian):

Anyway, since I have collected enough images, I though I would share it to you guys (credit goes to original uploader in Chinese forum):

PS: Seems like the original sword blade got some kind of blade carving (horimono) that is not replicated in Huanuo version... Guess what... JSSword (of the 'infamous' kawashima brand) actually got a more faithful replica!

Except for addition of blade collar (habaki/tunkou - is it the correct term for jian), it's look pretty close to the original. Of course 1.915KG for weight is not historically accurate for jian! Probably more SLO than accurate replica... Nevertheless, it's kind of cool...

Jue Yun Jian was one of a series of 30 jian made for his personal use, and the original is still housed in the Qing Palace museum in Shen Yang. Of these 30 jian, 10 are of the Heaven series, 10 of the Earth Series and 10 of are the Man series. The Jue Yun Jian is number 6 of the Man series. Huanuo’s forge has created a masterful reproduction that captures the beauty of Emperor’s original sword and is well balanced for form and test cutting practice.
