Congrats on your second new Katana. Those DH 1060 Musashi blades are a great value and are quite durable light cutters. I have three of those Katana, a Miamoto, a Mantis both in Shinogi-Zukuri style with bo-hi and a Shobu-Zukuri style without Bo-hi. Enjoy your new blade.

The T-10 is my baby....she will mostly be used to stand with me during photos with my Kumdo sword class over the next 2 years.
But the 1060 is going to be my busy sword. I plan to use it to learn the art of cutting with.
I dont use the term "Beater" with my 1060 sword as I tend to believe that term sets a bad image in the mind of everyone who may use the sword, (myself included)
Rather I like the term "Stunt Double".
The 1060 will do things first that later my T-10 will also have to do. Neither sword will be mistreated.
We only cut pool noddle in my class as a means or improving our cuts. the noodle leaves you with a visible record of how the cut went. Im one of them people that kinda look down of the use of water bottles as cutting targets.. I just think there are better things to cut that dont involve dumping water onto a high carbon blade over and over.
As a change, this year I believe a few of us in my sword class with try our luck at cutting bundles of cattails to see what type of target that is. I have never seen a video of anyone cutting cattails, so this should be interesting to learn.....and they are free and found in the ditch in front of my farm anyway... dried they might prove a fun change up for a target.
I just posted these photos to announce what swords I now have. all due to the great help this SBG forum has been.
I cant do a real review of the swords as I simply dont know enough about swords yet to review them correctly.
All i know is, they are sharp, "So whatch where you point that thing Alan!".....LOL

One of the things I have to learn how to do is deal with dull edge on a cheaper low-end sword.
This sword is where I learn....
