In part of my Beile Dao review, I'm creating a chart of chinese dao name because I had hard time to get the information about it (unlike japanese katana - it's easy to find out what's habaki means... try to do the same with tunkou!). There is a poster created by Andrian Ko of SFI long time ago... but I don't really like the graph due to its dark theme (also resolution is kindda small - but the format & layout is nice!), so I decide to create a newer version (same layout) with SBG theme  I would appreciate if you can provide feedback & more information so I can integrate it back to the final version... Thanks All!

Hi Blackthorn,
I am looking for mandarin/pin yin to match the current one.
I am still looking for tassel/lanyard part.
Also name of false edge on the tip, and some common historical data such as weight, length, material, etc
I am planning to create a small table on the right side to show the data (such as general length for dao is 29", etc)
thanks

FYI, you need to get Paul's permission to use the SBG name and logo for this project.
I think you will have no problem actually getting this other than maybe a wait to get a response in the email/PM but you definitely should get approval for this project to have the SBG name and logo.
On an other note, great idea, and very cool idea to give more info for the Chinese sword community. I posted copy of a rewap thread from SFI after getting permission from the original poster on SFI to reproduce it here. Same thinking there just wasn't much info on Chinese swords like there is about katana or even Euros and felt adding a second place for a chinese hilt rewrap tutorial was a great idea.
Maybe you can do one for jian part names too? Then there would be one for both the most popular Chinese blades?

Great idae- I know I was struggling to find names to describe my jian- I just didn't know what the equivalent names were from the english or japanese counterparts.
Very useful

Junon, Since I took that photo I could get you a high-res original PSD that's masked and everything. PM me for link.
A photo credit back to CAS Hanwei would be nice as well...

All, thanks for the input & suggestion. ineffableone - you are right; I have removed the SBG logo and sent PM to Paul for his permission first. The reason I put the logo there is I don't want the image end up on ebay/somewhere else first because it's still work-in-progress... I put SBG logo so at least people would know where to check if there's an error/etc. However I just realized I could watermarked it with DRAFT and put a link to this thread for the purpose... so I made the correction this morning. @dadaochen - I'm still looking for the tassel/lanyard name... If you somehow know it, please let me know! bpogue - I sent you PM. I'm happy to provide photo credit to CAS Hanwei, of course. I own the beile dao and very happy with it... Hanwei rocks!
