anyway, I was in one of my accounts today selling and started bsing with a customer. here's what he told me.
some how we got on the subject of swords and he was telling me that awhile back a katana smith lived here in mccall. supposedly based on his story he was a masterwork smith who trained in japan. since there's not many licensed masterwork smiths here in the states I kinda assumed he was full of it, or this was one of the few who are licensed and he resided here in idaho.
so here's my question, any of you guys heard of or know of a masterwork smith who at some point resided in idaho? supposedly according to this guy's story he lived here for quite awhile, had a full tamegahane forge and moved about five years ago.
I've lived up here for about eight years so I'd be really disappointed if I had the opportunity to meet or see the work of a master smith in person.

Not knowing any in Idaho but your neighbour state Oregon houses Dragonfly Forge. Michael and Gabriel Bell are both excellent swordsmiths.

hey I do know this guy! never knew he was a sword smith! wow, have a little more to chat with him about next time. at least more than pale ale. funny he never mentioned his experience in sword smithing. then again I don't think I ever mentioned I was a sword buff.
thanks marc, once again you've proved why your the go to guy for info.
