I believe that ricky is correct. Chris Zhou is a well reputed smith who does designs for Musashi. I can't say that you can get one made by him, but here is one of the higher-end Musashi's that he designed. www.twiggystreasures.com/musashi-katana-ss761.htmlIf you Google his name, you should be presented with some other options.

No you can't buy a sword like from the video for $200
The production swords you see out there are a result of power hammers. In fact Chris Zhou probably uses a power hammer himself usually. There is no need for all that human swinging hammering. While you do still need to do some hammering by hand, the power hammer makes things so much easier.
here is a nice video of using a power hammer
Using a power hammer is still called hand forging btw. This is just another tool in the crafting of a sword, and it helps create less fatigue for the smith adding to his ability to create a quality blade.

You can buy laminated swords for reasonable prices though. Kobuse lamination being the most common you will find, and is the cheapest of the laminations. Ronin Katana sells some of the higher end complex laminations for a very reasonable price (way over $200 though)for the type of work needed to make them.

Kumdoalan,
Chris Zhou does not personally makes the swords you see on sale for a few hundred dollars. He is only the name behind the production company. He has his workers who do the forging. Musashi, the sword company, used their association with him to promote their swords.

No model....most likely a forging demo video. The "how they make a Musashi katana" video series is for our- the US sword buyer market's - benefit. To make us think they have master smiths forging the $80 Musashis....not a chance. It's a sword churning out factory like any other Chinese industry. Like what is (insert your favorite big box or $ store) ____mart full of? Factory churned out US import stuff. The production sword industry is the same on a different scale and flavor.
Ricky and others already pretty much filled in the blanks.

www.swordnarmory.com/Top-of-the- ... -s/181.htm Notice the paragraph at the top of the page. "Each Katana has been constructed in either a San Mai, Kobuse or Maru lamination."Now within the sentence there is a LOT of wiggle room for darn near everything. But how are we to know what sword is constructed in what manner?
