I'd suggest taking a short section of pipe and placing it over the peen end of the sword with the peen in the middle of the pipe. Whack it with a mallet a few times, which will push the pommel down further onto the tang. Then, heat the exposed peen a bit with a torch, and smooth it down with a ball-peen hammer. Smooth the finish if desired with a file. This is result in a better long term fix for ya.

Okay what kind of pipe metal or plastic, and will it still work for screw on pommels?

I use a piece of thick PVC pipe myself. This is only This would not work on a threaded tang / pommel - on those you would just hand tighten then and maybe add some Loctite to keep them from loosening up in the future.

And if it has a threaded on pommel that has been peened as well, then the only thing you can do is hit the peen again to tighen it up and keep the pommel alingment......
