I was torn on my decision to post this here, or under the tactical swords forum. I guess it would fit in either. I noticed on the SwordNArmoury site this morning under their new products that they have introduced a Munetoshi 1060 Tactical Wakizashi. It is clearly a Hanwei Tac. Wak near clone. 1060 (drawn to spring temper) blade in either No Hi or Bo Hi version. No plasma coat. Small steel tsuba. Slab, plastic scales riveted to the tang. Matte black wood Saya w/brass band kurigata. Para cord wrap on the Saya. 19.5" blade, 9.65" tuska. $79.95.
Not really my cup of tea, but an interesting alternative to the Hanwei piece at a great price.

the only thing that would make me want the hanwei more is the fiberglass saya. I'd like to go swimming with my tactical sword and not have any worries.

Hmmm.. They are similar, but they have their differences. The blade shape is slightly different, the hilt isn't the exact same and their a few details that are different on the handle. Still, it seems like Munetoshi decided to hop on the tactical blade bandwagon.

Looks okay...might get it if it's sharper than the Hanwei (I've heard the edge is pretty rough on the hanwei tac-waks). It's only $20 less than the Hanwei tac-wak...
