So i thought id show you all what i currently own as far as swords and weapons are concerned and maybe learn something about my collection in the process!
Here's my current favourite:
Global Gear Chikara. (unknown version)
It came in a very nice wooden box, I always thought it was the v1 until i watched the review for it here last night and now im not so sure. The saya is not powdercoated, there is now visible hamon on the blade, but it doesnt have the battle wrapped tsuka, all the other fittings seem to be right, the sageo is one i wove myself as the suede one is no good for actual use! I did buy it brand new from global gear about four or so years ago...
any thoughts or opinions will be appreciated!
And here is my Hiro Nakamura Replica sword from the series Hero's
Incidently the tsuba on this sword is my favourite tsuba!
Also there's the Tanto I'm busy working on.
Also some wooden Yari's
And this beast...
Maybe Ill do a cutting video with it one day!
Thought I'd share my latest aquisitions...
A very good friend of mine whom I've been training in Iaido with has moved to Japan for a yet to be determined length of time and decided that he didnt need anymore of his worldly possessions and I was lucky enough to inherit his pride and joy as well as two other swords, on the promise that I will put them to good use and continue with my Iaido training!
Bokken, nothing special but sentimental value counts for much!
The Iaito that he used when he started training before he graded and got to start using a shinken. The wrap on this tsuka is REALLY loose and I am just waiting for some ito to arrive from Japan so i can rewrap it!
And last but not least, a Hanwei practical pro katana. Dubbed the bloodletter by my friend as he has a nasty scar on his hand from it! and has a few other cuts from the blade as well. I would like to modify it to suit its name oneday! I did notice that the same seems to be plastic, is this normal for these swords? Its quite a pricy sword as far as i know and the fittings seem to be pretty crap to put it bluntly! Is the money for the blade and the fittings keep it down a bit?
You can just make out the hamon in this pic!
Heres what I'm talking about with the same
I just finished making these!
