Hi everyone, I recently found a sword that I looked up and I found out that there are different versions of the sword. One was manufactured on limited quantity and the other one is much less rare. Now how can I tell the difference? This is what is branded on my sword. Gladiator TM (c) 2000 Dreamworks LLC and Universal Studios WINDLASS, India and this is the picture If anyone could help me out...thanks!

Alex:
The original Marto and first addition Windlass have Dreamswork certificates. Windlass recently released a second run on the Maximus. It does not have the certificate.
Limited addition doesn't mean much. There might be some movie buffs who want the certificate. Either way they are sub $300.00 swords. An original hollywood prop sword, used in the movie sells for twice as much as one of these.

If it says 'Dreamworks' it may be first edition Windlass. I wouldn't put too much stock in its value either way, though; as Dave says, an original prop is much more valuable than a commercially available reproduction.
