I saw this on the internet. I know it looks Kinda crappy, but the description says it's high carbon steel. I'm not expecting much maybe a 1045 or a 1055. I would like to get it for customization (resizing, grinding, etc.) but would like some opinions from the members here to see if it would worth the effort, money, and time or if i should just keep on looking for other stuff. thanks

Without any more than the pic....kinda hard to say.
At a guess it looks like Made in India should be stamped on it somewhere and IMO it also appears to be mild steel.
With that much mass and that skinny tang hidden in the handle ...whoa....could be an accicdent of sorts on the first swing and or cutting attempt.
Not to shoot down your choice here, just giving an opinion. I like the blade shape and all ...but the beginning of the tang looks somewhat starved for structural support.

Looks like someone took a cheap 300 sword replica blade and stuck it on a long handle; considering the possible tang issues Steve mentioned, I'm not sure whether I'd trust this or not. Frankly, if my observation is correct, then not only does it likely have a very short tang, it'll likely be very skinny.

Am i blind or does the handle fit inside the blade like a spear blade is attached? If Im wrong, which I prolly am, then I would say I agree with everyone else and the tang is most likely a thin rat tail which would not be safe to use.
Can you give us a link to look at to gather more information?

mebbe if one of the things you was looking at doing was moving the hilt area up to the main curve. turning the bottom portion of the blade into the tang.

ohh don't worry guys Im cutting out the handle, overall it's 38 inches i was gonna cut it down to 23 inches, regrinding the metal from the blade for a new tang. I was thinking of making it into some sort of machete , or something to cut pieces of wood and what not. Now when it comes to Mild Steel, what the integrity of this type of steel i know it's used for construction and welding, but After that not much. thanks for your opinions P.S: I have found another pic of it.

It is fairly inexpensive, however that usually equates to "cheap" as well. It says carbon steel on one site and high carbon steel on the other. Maybe there is some carbon content in the steel? Mild steel is soft as far as steels go. little or no edge retention properties. bends easily. not conducive for cutting tools of any type.
Ships without a sheath? Hope the point has some sturdy protector on it for shipping. The ridge line may be a stiffener of sorts but that could also be a hindrance for utilitarian use like splitting wood and what not.
Fun project to make a wicked looking blade out of? Sure. Just be careful.
